Apache swim takes part in Wawasee Invitational

The Wabash swim teams traveled to Wawasee on Saturday to take part in an invitational.

The boys' team placed sixth overall with the highest finish of the day coming from the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Jacob Bruss, Jonah France, Jonathan King and Trace Goodwin as they took fourth.

Bruss finished fifth in the breaststroke and the team of Goodwin, France, Bruss and Robert King placed sixth in the 200-yard medley relay.

The girls' team took seventh on the day. Becca Bruss took seventh in the 100-yard backstroke while Morgan Owens placed eighth in the 100-yard butterfly.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Bruss, Owens, Alexis Hartley and Mallory Hipskind took seventh.


Wabash County Tournament draw released

The Wabash County Tournament's draw was completed on Monday. In the boys' tournament, Northfield and Southwood will meet in the opening match at 4:45 p.m. while Manchester and Wabash will face off in the nightcap at 8:15 p.m.

The girls' draw mirrored the boys' draw with Northfield and Southwood squaring off at 3 p.m. while Manchester and Wabash play at 6:30 p.m.

The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 29 with the girls' JV game between Southwood and Northfield. Games on Saturday, Dec. 30 start at 10 a.m. with the girls' JV championship game. The boys' JV championship game follows at 11:45 a.m.

Tickets for the full tournament are $15 for adults and $10 for students.
